Michael Toole helps with kansas city residential roofs build for summit custom home account

Michael Toole, Aspen Project Manager

While some customers think Aspen Contracting only does residential repairs or replacements, that is far from true. Aspen actually works on many types of roofs, not only residential but also new construction as well. Our company loves participating in community projects every year and giving back whenever possible. Aspen employees go out of their way to volunteer for some special projects that are near and dear to our hearts. An ongoing special project that Aspen has been working on has been the Children’s Mercy Home for Little Heroes. The Aspen marketing team traveled out to the project to talk to one of our awesome project managers, Michael Toole to get the scoop on the project.

Toole explained that the Children’s Mercy House for Heroes Local is a charity where all the time, labor, and materials come from donations from local companies. The proceeds from the purchase of the house go directly back to the Children’s Hospital. Summit Homes heads this project and helps put on about 300 special houses a year. “Seeing a local company home builder give back in this volume speaks a lot about the people (local contractors) that are willing to step up” (Toole).

Background

Toole has worked with the Summit Custom Homes account for two years and that this is the third project that Aspen has volunteered for. Aspen Contracting Inc. participated in the Saint Jude’s Dream Home three times, but this is its first project for the “Home for Little Heroes”. The home will be located in the Olathe Kansas area and will feature a farmhouse theme. This special project is not only great because of the good that comes as the result of the project but also the greatness that comes within building it. Toole explains that when all the different contractors from the surrounding area come together, the faces become friendlier, more helpful, and even more fun with every project they get to share. “These types of projects come together fast, the process is speedy, and the quality is top notch” (Toole).

Aspen is proud to help volunteer and give back, and we pride ourselves on the work that we do. Since our company is a nationwide company, we always have the ability to stand behind our roofs. With our Iron Clad warranty, and 30-year coverage for labor and material Aspen offers something that no other company can match. Toole believes that it is important that Aspen installs the roofs for these special projects. He knows that Aspen Contracting Inc. is going to be here through the long haul and that Aspen makes sure that this roof and all others are completed correctly.

Walking Through

Walking the custom build, Toole shared just how excited he is to see the project pull together. “When the house gets painted that’s when you really see the work that Aspen has put in, the colors start to come together”, and the house really comes to life (Toole). This wonderful house will feature Atlas 30 year Weatherwood shingles, a charcoal standing seam, and metal accents around the front entryway.

Moments

Tooles most memorable moment for this project was during the presentation where Aspen got together to discuss what projects they were going to work on. A family with children around the same ages as Tooles, stepped up to share their story about how they had lost their son to brain cancer. “It was truly tear-jerking and upsetting to hear that they had lost their son, it really brought it home” (Toole). The stories that Mike hears make him value the work that he does, and understand just how significant these projects are to the community. Mike enjoys helping with these special projects and is so excited to see Aspen and local contractors come together to help their community.

While the project is not scheduled to be completed until Fall of 2018 you can click here  to find out more information about the project on the Summit Homes website.
